sliding eastward. you can see this approaching cold front. most of the energy from this one going to keep the rain well to the north of the bay area. maybe clipping far northern california but otherwise, looks like these temperatures are going to stay down. more clouds on the way, some cool conditions. staying dry for today. but then as we get into the latter part of the week we have this guy that's just developing out there in the pacific. that could bring some showers, maybe even some snow to the local mountains. computer models showing low clouds early on stretching onshore. high clouds in the skies from the cold front moving on through but staying dry. and then toward the afternoon, couple of more clouds becoming more broken as you have some colder air that will likely filter in. but otherwise we are going to keep these things down along the coastline. only 54 degrees in monterey. a chance of a few cold showers and 51 degrees in eureka. you will see some 60s and sunshine in the central valley. and around our bay we'll keep those numbers cool

, not being able to move, not being able to expend that energy and then possibly this idea of autism or aspergers and not having structure that he's used to that helps him survive and function, all of that taken away, it was a horrendous, horrendous experience and even though he's doing well now, down the road we see that it will come back to him through some sort of acute stress disorder, or ptsd, along with a nightmare, the depression, the anxiety. his mother's going to have to show him a lot of love, which i know she will. >> is he going to be able to recover from this? is there enough therapy? is there enough love that can help this little boy through his life as he gets older? >> he certainly will be able to survive. he may even thrive. and he'll do well in his life. but this is something that will stay with him, as it has with the previous person who talked about her experience in california. we see when children go through this, no matter how resilient they are, suzanne, that at some point in their lives it plays itself back, even if they hear it happening to someone else. it

deal of energy and a lot of storm system into the west here associated and link up with the storm that's going to move into new england. so, it has a little bit of a kick to it. numerous showers out here, high pressure should be a sunny morning in many cases. this front lingering down here in southern california. still low clouds possibly around oceanside down to san diego. you notice the onshore flow continues and scattered showers, especially the high elevation and snow levels have dropped a little bit, not a lot. this isn't a lot of moisture source. in the next storm that comes in, it will drag some of that moisture with showers down into areas that are clear this morning in medford, southward along the coast, you may get wet weather. we're not expecting any from san francisco south of there. the forecast yesterday, hit and miss showers, especially in the monterey. eventually some of the showers are going to make their way into southern california. i'll tell you when, coming up. >> bill karins, always a gentleman. great explanation. >> you didn't need to pull the curtain. >> i don't

and here it is. you see most of the energy headed over the top of this ridge means it's going to stay north of the bay area for the most part except for a few high clouds and it's going to help to reinforce the low clouds and fog and keep us pretty gray especially toward the beaches. so more clouds and cool and going to be staying dry for now. but that's going to change of you have this system off the coastline that will be dropping into the bay area on thursday and friday. i think that's our best chance of getting some showers here in the bay area this week. all right. we have some low clouds stretching onshore this morning. computer models trying to break that up a bit. but you see cloud even toward the middle of the day and in the afternoon we'll see some cloud continuing outside so the cool temperatures going to continue, as well. we'll keep those highs generally cool coastside only about 54 degrees in monterey. rain in toward eureka. 60s in the central valley sunshine there, and 40s and 50s in the high country. around the bay 57 degrees. cool
